First circular and invitation to participate
Accessing the workshop
We invite participation in a web based workshop to
-
Debate the usefulness
of the concepts of resilience and transformative adaptation in
relation to the management of upland landscape by comparison of the
UK Lake District case study area with other areas via international
examples.
-
Invite delegates to
characterise social-ecological systems in which they are involved
and to compare issues with other areas via web discussion.
-
Begin to identify areas
of resilience and thresholds where adaptation and transformation may
be a more appropriate course of action.
-
Identify areas, or
scales of interaction, that require further research in order to
more fully understand the socio-ecological systems of the uplands.
