The Upland Centre project on eco-housing comes at a time when changing our habits to prevent further climate change is hot on the governments agenda.

A recent workshop at the Upland Centre helped to set our research agenda - Workshop Report

 The DTI have recently published a micro-generation strategy http://www.dti.gov.uk/energy/environment/microgeneration/

 A Consultation was recently held on a code for sustainable homes http://www.odpm.gov.uk/index.asp?id=1162094. The Upland Centre contributed to the consultation,  and the government are now radically altering the code to take into account this and other responses. Centre Response to Consultation

The International Centre for the Uplands - Cumbria is funded by
Northwest Development Agency via Cumbria Vision and Cumbria County Council
Lancaster University managed the Upland Centre for the first three years.
The Centre is now managed by the University of Cumbria
