Our Work at the Upland
Centre falls into three main categories:
Research (both commissioned and
internal);
Communication and information sharing through conferences and
workshops and through teaching; and
Influencing policy by responding to consultations and
attendance on working groups.
Our
work covers four main themes that we view as central to Upland
sustainability:
Landscape, including aspects of the natural and cultural
landscape landscape management and the role landscape change through time;
Sense of Place;
Community,
including housing; and
Interdependence between social, environmental
and economic factors to achieve sustainable uplands.
We are always interested in working with
new people from all backgrounds. Please get in touch if you would like
to discuss working with us, or share research ideas and outcomes with
us.
